That the client IS the expert in their story. We walk beside the client throughout their journey. There is NO rush, the safety and the relationship ARE the therapy!
MEET EDDIE
CIS gendered, She/Her pronouns.
A qualified and experienced social worker (AASW) psychotherapist and counsellor (PACFA).
She brings years of experience, a deep passion for the marginalised communities that she worked extensively with, at The Gender Centre and The Wayside Chapel.
Eddie is a loving mother of three adult sons and is now a doting grandmother (a Babushka) to her granddaughter.
She brings to the therapeutic space a sound belief that every client has a story to be honoured. The speed and direction of the therapy is client driven.
Eddies clients enjoy how approachable she is, her easy-going nature, sense of humour and just how much she cares.
WHY BABUSHKA COUNSELLING
Eddie observed that many individuals did not feel safe enough to engage with traditional services, which often focus solely on diagnoses or eliminating symptoms. So, she created Babushka Counselling.
At Babushka Counselling, the approach shifts to understanding everyone’s story, focusing on the question, “What has happened to you?" rather than “What’s wrong with you?”
Creating a practice that provides a space where clients can explore their stories, gain understanding or possibly a different perspective. Dedicated to offering empathy, respect, understanding and support.
